RHAC Need Changing

Description: Learn about the transition that the University of Wisconsin La Crosse made with it's RHAC to the new Student Embassy. You will learn about the reason for the change and the process of changing to a new organization. The program will also include an overview of what the 5 student ambassadors do on campus.
Sticks and Stones Can Break My Bones and Microaggressions Hurt Me

Description: Have you ever seen someone use a microaggression? Are you unaware that microaggressions exist? Microaggressions cause a lot of damage to communities. In our program we will be exploring microaggressions and the damage they cause to ourselves and our communities and ways to combat and empower those who have faced microaggressions prior.

Description: Delegates will be given a square piece of paper with different colors and each color represents a different diversity (Socioeconomic statuses, gender roles, racial diversity, etc.). The presenters then treat the participants as though the individuals are in those positions. There will be a debrief following the activity discussing its effects on the participants and the way this can affect residents in our residence hall communities.

This program helps you realize the mask you wear, and break out of your comfort zone, and to show who you truly are.

In this program, delegates will have the opportunity to talk about the impacts that mental health has on them and their campuses, both positive and negative. We will bring the conversation of mental health to the table, in the hopes that delegates will continue this conversation after they leave.

Living and Learning In Living Learning Communities

Description: Living and Learning in Living Learning Communities (LLC's) will dicuss as the title suggest, the fundamental structure of LLC's. I will discuss the structure of our LLC's at Eau Claire, specifically the Healthy Living LLC, for I am a programmer for it. Then, we will move to discuss the positives and negatives of the current system, and what changes could possibly be made to bring about a more successful experience. This program is created in hopes to bring about critical thinking of your own LLC, or possibly bring forth some event ideas for other organizations you participate in.

The Little Things In Life

Things as simply as someone holding the door open for you or paying for your cup of coffee are often overlooked. We need to acknowledge these special little moments and lift up the people around us. In this program we will learn the benefits of appreciating the people around us, and create affirmation journals to reflect on these life experiences.
