Description: Be Your Own Bae is a program about how to practice self care on your own! Without self care, we can never accomplish our goals, especially in the world of housing. So like Frankie Goes to Hollywood says, RELAX and learn about new self care ideas!

 

RHAC Need Changing

Description: Learn about the transition that the University of Wisconsin La Crosse made with it's RHAC to the new Student Embassy.  You will learn about the reason for the change and the process of changing to a new organization.  The program will also include an overview of what the 5 student ambassadors do on campus.

 

Sticks and Stones Can Break My Bones and Microaggressions Hurt Me

Description: Have you ever seen someone use a microaggression? Are you unaware that microaggressions exist? Microaggressions cause a lot of damage to communities. In our program we will be exploring microaggressions and the damage they cause to ourselves and our communities and ways to combat and empower those who have faced microaggressions prior.

Up Lifting Popsicle Sticks

Description: You and a partner will color popsicle sticks for about 10 minutes and then write 1-2 positive things about your partner and hand them the stick for them to read whenever they need something to lift them up.

Diversity Training For Desk Assistants

Description: As student staff members, residents, administrators etc, it is essential that we work together to move towards a more inclusive environment in the residence halls as well as across campus in order to build a more diverse and inclusive setting for student life to thrive. Young, Me, We

Description: Delegates will be given a square piece of paper with different colors and each color represents a different diversity (Socioeconomic statuses, gender roles, racial diversity, etc.). The presenters then treat the participants as though the individuals are in those positions. There will be a debrief following the activity discussing its effects on the participants and the way this can affect residents in our residence hall communities.

It’s a daily practice to recognize our peers, co-workers, and others for the hard work they do or for being fantastic human beings. Furthermore, how can we do that with our daily language, Love Languages, and the road ahead for our potential careers? Let the games begin!

 

The Mask You Live In

Description:  There are many problems with society. One of those problems that plagues youth today in the suppression of emotion. We hide away thoughts of fear, of sadness, and of anger. This creates a mask, one that we wear when in public, and one that we may not realize we wear until we have some great epiphany about our lives. This program helps you realize the mask you wear, and break out of your comfort zone, and to show who you truly are.
 

Make A Mess From Stress!

Description:  As college students, mental health is incredibly important for survival and success; still, the stigma surrounding mental health stifles this conversation, and too often, it doesn’t happen. In this program, delegates will have the opportunity to talk about the impacts that mental health has on them and their campuses, both positive and negative. We will bring the conversation of mental health to the table, in the hopes that delegates will continue this conversation after they leave.

Living and Learning In Living Learning Communities

Description:  Living and Learning in Living Learning Communities (LLC's) will dicuss as the title suggest, the fundamental structure of LLC's. I will discuss the structure of our LLC's at Eau Claire, specifically the Healthy Living LLC, for I am a programmer for it. Then, we will move to discuss the positives and negatives of the current system, and what changes could possibly be made to bring about a more successful experience. This program is created in hopes to bring about critical thinking of your own LLC, or possibly bring forth some event ideas for other organizations you participate in.

The Little Things In Life

Description:  In today's world, it is becoming more difficult to appreciate the little things in life. Things as simply as someone holding the door open for you or paying for your cup of coffee are often overlooked. We need to acknowledge these special little moments and lift up the people around us. In this program we will learn the benefits of appreciating the people around us, and create affirmation journals to reflect on these life experiences.
